At what point in our lives does it change from being a child with wild imagination who is unafraid, living without limits and boundaries to becoming an adult who is stuck in everyday life and afraid to be ourselves?
If you ask a child what they want to be when they grow up you may hear, a dancer, a doctor, a veterinarian, owner of an ice cream shop. Then they grow up and suddenly have society yelling at them that they aren’t good at something, or they will never make enough money doing what the desire. So, off they go to college (cause it is the thing to do in order to make a ton of money) to earn a degree most will never even use and start a career to pay off the massive amount of student debt they accumulated all while not enjoying life or who they have become.
Hello world! What happened to being happy by doing what you love? Maybe you make money at it or more importantly you make an impact in someone else’s life! There are some damn good and very successful owners of ice cream shops out there! Thank you very much! And how about those vets who do home visits for the animals they care so much about. They are able to help a cow give birth to a baby calf and are so happy to bring a life into this world that they don’t even care about the money when all is said and done. Or the person who decided that being an artist is what brings them joy and everyone laughed at them until they commissioned there first work for $5000 or more?! It can happen and you know why? Because, it is those kids that stayed true to their soul’s truth and they followed it through! They never let the world stop them no matter what anyone said. Those are the ones who are happiest and the understand that the universe has more to offer than making million of dollars. They are the ones who stayed unafraid! Listen money is good, and we all need it to survive. But do something you love that you can potentially make money with. That is my message. You don’t have to be stuck in your horrible 9-5 job just to make ends meet. Find another way!
I know what your thinking and the fear that is creeping up in you again, and I need you to stop! Listen, doing what you most desire and know will make you happy might seem like it is impossible now. Audrey Hepburn once said “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible!” Once you become possible, the world opens it’s door to you. Opportunities present themselves in odd ways and those opportunities may not seems like opportunities until you take them. Take the leap to be happy and free. The rest will come if you just believe!
